We use the term **myth** to refer to a structure which is used to incubate or "hold" a series of separate narratives. A myth gives a conceptual framing that facilitates the emergence or creation of distinct stories, projects or narratives. A **myth** is a meta-narrative.
# Astral Ship
Astral Ship is one such myth. You can imagine it as an abstract, virtual or ghost-ship - one which represents the spirit of many individual ships. The myth of the astral ship captures what is common, and helps inform the way in which we sail.
# Virtual Theatre Company Between 1993 and 2006 we explored the creation of such Myths as a performance structure, that in the somwhat clumsy language of the time I refered to as object oriented theatre. The reframing of these concepts as myths is I believe an important aspect of the participatory infrastructure, we need for federated ecosystems of engagment.
