Wiki has become a grandmother

A future version of wiki will ask of us how well we cared for her. We hope she will be grateful. There is certainly a great debt owed to the early thinkers behind hypertext, and the first creators of wiki and wiki software.

If C2.com was the first wiki, then who would be the grandchildren? I think we can reasonable think of Mediwiki, Wikidata and Wikipedia as the parents, and projects like federated wiki and TiddlyWiki as their illegitimate offspring. But it is not clear who her grandchildren will be.

Some say Notion, though this does not yet feel to be a wiki - more like a different species. We can also ask if the parents have turned their backs on the original values of wiki? It would be natural after all to do so, and for her grandchildren to return to those in some regard while bringing other things that are new? So who are the grandchildren?

Let's make an announcement here, when we feel we have found them.
